The Nebraska Standard was published as a weekly newspaper beginning on Friday, December 17, 1891 by J.A. Edgerton.  The newspaper then merged with the Kearney New Era to form the New Era-Standard. The final issue of The Nebraska Standard under its own masthead was published in 1895.
