Geography of Nebraska
by George E. Condra, Ph.D.
Condra was professor of geography and economic geology at the University of Nebraska and director of the Conservation and Survey Division. This is the classroom geography that went through many editions in the first decades of the century. It treats the land itself: plains and valleys, climate, soils, rivers, regions, and the resources those regions supported.
It is a textbook, not a county history. There is no family section. Researchers use a 1923 printing for the period view — how the state was mapped and taught just after the First World War — and for the regional divisions Condra used. It pairs with his later Nebraska Story (1951), which is the history textbook, not a substitute for this one.
