Soil Survey of Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska
by the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service
In cooperation with the University of Nebraska Conservation and Survey Division
Issued December 1968

This is the modern county soil survey, not the 1915 Bureau of Soils pamphlet. The text runs 119 pages: how the survey was made, the soil associations, and the series themselves, including Alice, Keith, Minatare, McCook, Mitchell, and Tripp. Later chapters cover irrigated and dryland use, range, windbreaks, homesites, engineering uses, and a short account of the county’s history, climate, water, and agriculture.

The map sheets follow the text. This copy includes the index to map sheets, the county grid from Scottsbluff and Gering east to Minatare and McGrew. The cover, contents, and index are stamped “From Your Congressman, Dave Martin.”
