Nebraska Blue Book
Nebraska’s Official State Government Reference Book
by the Clerk of the Legislature
The Nebraska Blue Book is the state’s official reference manual. Each biennial volume covers state government, the Unicameral, elected officials, geography, economy, history, and culture as they stood in that edition.
It is a working reference, not a genealogy mug-book. Researchers use it for officeholders, agencies, counties, and the official snapshot of Nebraska in those years. Later editions supersede it for current officials. Earlier editions are the ones to keep when you need who held an office, or how a department was organized, at a specific date.
Out of print as a current manual. The Clerk still sells the newest Blue Book for $15. These used copies are priced below that.
Useful for Nebraska government and local-history reference shelves, and for anyone checking officials or agencies from the biennium.
